We’re so excited to share Adrienne and Michael’s gorgeous fall wedding at the Fermenting Cellar. We started the day at Adrienne’s parents house, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Adrienne selected such a unique dress — the beading was so intricate and, spoiler alert, the dress fit her absolutely perfectly.
Inside, in the comfort of her parents’ kitchen, Adrienne, her bridesmaids, and her mom were having their hair and makeup done.
Adrienne made stunning choices for her shoes (blush and gold Dior!) and jewelry as well. Just so cool.
Back in T.O., at Adrienne and Michael’s loft, Michael and his groomsmen were getting ready. Since Adrienne and Michael are record collectors and fans of film noir, Mark couldn’t resist taking a few shots to set the scene (they are collectors after our own hearts).
Michael’s not the type who likes being the centre of attention — he was certainly more at home lending a hand to his buddy who was getting ready and sharing a drink with his bro.
Back at her parents’, Adrienne was ready. What can we say? Wow! Gorgeous, Adrienne.
Adrienne and Michael opted not to see each other before their ceremony and the anticipation was palpable. After just a few last minute touches, they were headed into the amazingly colourful Saint Nicolas Ukrainian Catholic Church to tie the knot.
Although weddings are primarily about the two people promising to spend their lives together, in documenting weddings for years now, we’ve also come to appreciate just how much weddings are about families — sharing the joy of the day with them and bringing everyone together. A few of our favorites of Adrienne and Michael’s families looking on:
We decided that this is one of our new favorite moments at weddings — after the signing, that quiet moment when even though they’re still being watched by everyone, in their minds, it’s just the two of them. And it’s official.
With all the formalities out of the way, we headed to Trinity Bellwoods Park for some family and bridal party photos. We’re huge fans of black bridesmaid dresses, especially asymmetrical ones paired with custom jewelry.
After some quiet time in the park, we headed to the Distillery District with Adrienne, Michael, and their bridal parties. Couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces or keep them from laughing if you tried!
A little more cozy and romantic…
Some fun with the fall breeze and Adrienne’s veil…
One of our favorites from the day…
The Fermenting Cellar is an amazing industrial event space. The much softer feathers and the simple white and green decor complemented it perfectly.
Juxtaposing art deco design and tradition:
During speeches, we typically recede into the background, flies on the wall, trying to subtly document all the smiles, laughter, and tears.
First dance, all smiles.
We couldn’t pick between the images of Adrienne and Michael’s rings on the delicate flowers or steel. So we went with both.
Congrats again, Adrienne and Michael. We had such a great time with you two. Thanks for choosing us to document your wedding and for making us feel like such a part of your family. Let’s grab a drink and head to a vinyl night soon!
