Michele + Jesse {Legends Niagara Wedding}

Based on what we knew about Michele and Jesse, we suspected that their wedding would be full of heartfelt, emotional moments, beautiful diy details, and “I-wear-my-sunglasses at night” kind of partying. Let’s start off by saying we were not disappointed!

We started of the day with Michele at Headlines Hair Salon in Niagara Falls, the city where she grew up. It was an incredibly laid-back morning spent with Michele’s sisters, nieces, and her dearest friend (who is clearly her third sister).

We love documenting the excitement of a wedding day. Michele’s niece was right in there, watching Michele and helping with the veil.

Michele had her make-up done and finished getting ready at her parents’ house, which, funny enough, is only a couple of streets over from Jesse’s family’s home. A few of our favorites of Michele’s dress and her carefully selected accessories for the day…

Can’t let a photo of these shoes pass without comment. It is, of course, important to have a sexy set of heels for your big day — Michele’s gold sparkly ones are a couple images down. But don’t forget some stylish flats for when your feet get sore. These feline-inspired, rose-coloured flats were awesome. All the more fitting since Michele adores her cat, Ben.

It’s not like Michele actually needed any make-up — she was just glowed and radiated excitement…

Okay, now here’s where you could get a little teary-eyed, if you were so inclined. One of us is pretty sentimental so this homemade wedding day gift was just perfect. Michele made Jesse an annotated picture book documenting their relationship together. Too awesome.

Meanwhile, Mark went over to Jesse’s parents’ place to document the guys hanging out. Surprise, surprise, look what he found…

Seriously though, the guys were game to strike a few quick poses before they headed over to Legends on the Niagara, where Michele and Jesse would be tying the knot.

Back at Michele’s parent’s, the flowers arrived. They were so unique.

The next few images show why we love documenting weddings as flies on the wall. Great moments — like all of the girls checking themselves out after hair and makeup were done.

Michele’s mom helped her with the bow on her dress and her twin sister, Melissa, helped her put on her jewelry and held the mirror up so Michele could take one last look at herself before heading out the door. You can feel the excitement.

That’s right, Michele. You look stunning.

Michele and Jesse were getting married on the covered patio at Legends. To make the space their own, they created a fabulous altar out of re-purposed old doors — painted beautiful pastel hues, adorned with a love banner, baby’s breath, and some hearts.

And, before you knew it, it was time…

Jesse and Michele opted to keep it traditional — not seeing each other until Michele’s walk down the aisle with her dad. While we always love it when our couples do a first look, it was pretty special documenting Jesse craning his neck and beaming ear to ear watching Michele walk towards him.

And, you may now kiss the bride (Talk about romance)!

After family photos, we headed out with the bridal party to shoot some group shots. They were all amazing sports. Up for anything. There are some pretty interesting outtakes you’ll have to follow-up with Michele and Jesse to get a look at.

A little Vanity Fair, anyone?

Love this set of Michele with her sisters in the trees. The light and the colours were perfect.

And then, we were off, alone with Michele and Jesse, to capture some images of them, alone, together, for the first time as husband and wife. It was magic. Great light, overwhelming love.

The fantastic DIY details just keep on coming…

A word on the cake. It was made by Michele and Jesse’s very talented friend (and one of our brides!), Katie.

The speeches alternated between laugh-out-loud funny (until your sides hurt) and incredibly emotional. These two are clearly *so* loved by their friends and families.

Dance me to the end of love…

Anytime ties are worn on heads and sunglasses come out at night, you know it’s a good party.

Michele and Jesse — what a day. We had an amazing time with you two. Thank you for opening up to us and allowing us to capture all of the emotion of the first day of the rest of your lives together.

Oh! I’m blown away but the beautiful images! We were lucky enough to design the wedding flowers and provide the ceremony backdrop (old doors) for Michele & Jesse. Just wanted to let you know that I’ll be providing a link on our website to your page; your work is fantastic!
