We first met Michelle and Paul at our last wedding of the 2015 season. Michelle was a bridesmaid, and we hit it off. When Michelle told us that she was marrying Paul, we crossed our fingers that we’d hear from her and have the chance to shoot their wedding. All that hoping paid off — not long after, Michelle reached out to us about documenting their late winter wedding at Ancaster Mill!
Michelle and her bridesmaids got ready in the rustic bridal suite on the top floor of the Mill. What a gorgeous place to start the day.
Michelle and Paul’s rustic theme was woven through all the details of their day. Our favorite elements were certainly their custom made ring box (we adored the pyrography — such an amazing personal touch) and their use of a massive section of a fallen tree from the property of Michelle’s childhood home as a “guest log”.
Clearly Michelle and Paul were the stars of the day, but the ring bearer and flower girl were likely the cutest!
The Mill’s Governor’s Room is a beautiful location for a ceremony. Its beams and clean white walls create such a romantic mood and soft light. Perfect for catching the moments of love . . .
. . . of laughter . . .
. . . of more laughter . . .
. . . and of more love and passion.
Although it was much colder than anyone expected for early March, Michelle and Paul braved the snow to take advantage of the beautiful cottage and waterfalls located on the Mill’s property.
Michelle and Paul fell into each other for their first dance.
Of course, we couldn’t end the post without a little bit more of the rustic feel that Michelle and Paul pulled off. Love the deep bark grooves and how their rings fit just perfectly.
We’re so happy that we met you guys last year and that you decided on us to document your day!!
