“It’s not like we have to get married or anything,” Olia had said when friending Adam on Facebook, prior to them even meeting. Their story is one of our favorites (see their fabulous Brickworks engagement shoot if you’re curious); their wedding, “The October Wedding”, perfectly showcased their amazing relationships with each other and their families and friends.
Adam and his guys started the day with a straight shave on Queen Street East. It was old school (really, we’re not kidding — ask Adam to see more of the outtakes). Mark was there with the guys capturing every retro detail.
Meanwhile, after Olia had her hair done with her sisters, mom, and niece on Queen West, everyone headed back to the Shangri-La for makeup and to get dressed.
Olia is clearly very close with her family, and Naomi spent the balance of her morning and early afternoon with them documenting their smiles, laughs, and happy tears.
Trying on mom’s shoes…
After their straight-razor shaves, Adam and the guys headed back to the Foxes’ house to get ready. Love their boutonnieres.
Rehearsing speeches is never without nerves, but with his guys and a little mascot nearby, Adam’s nerves didn’t last for long.
Olia picked an absolutely stunning dress and gorgeous shoes and accessories.
A little help from Olia’s sisters and niece…
That’s right, Olia, you look AMAZING!
With that, it was go time. Down to Cherry Beach for Olia and Adam’s first look. We love it when our couples opt to see each other before the ceremony. Not only does it allow them to minimize the amount of time away from their family and friends after the ceremony, but it also allows them to have a private (emotional!) moment — just the two of them, for the two of them. Before the day gets too crazy.
It was overcast and chilly on the Lake, but Olia was a trooper. We weren’t the ones wearing a sleeveless dress, but we think Olia’s toughing it out was so worth it. Olia and Adam look so stunning together on the beach with the dramatic moody sky, and their reactions and love speak for themselves.
We had hoped that the rain would hold off and the wind would die down. No luck with either of these, but in some ways the wind and rain made the shots. It was, after all, the October wedding. You should be a bit windswept and have to cozy up with your love.
Gorgeous bouquets. Love these.
A couple shots of the whole gang before we all escaped the cold and headed for the main event.
Olia and Adam’s ceremony and reception were held at the fabulous Berkeley Church. Time to tie the knot…
Yay!! Congrats, you two.
With most of the formal and family photos out of the way before the ceremony, cocktail hour allowed us to take some portraits and candid shots of Olia and Adam’s family and friends, document the carefully chosen reception details, and swing by the walk by wall.
Boy oh boy did Olia and Adam’s bridal party make some stellar entrances…
Speeches: where all your secrets will be disclosed. We’re looking at you, Adam. We kid, we kid. So many laughs.
In the tradition of epic parties (Chris and Miro, Katie and Mitch, Michele and Jesse — we haven’t forgotten you guys) comes Olia and Adam’s October wedding…
Of course we couldn’t finish the post without the classic #wennwed pose! You two are perfect!
Congrats again, Olia and Adam! We can’t thank you enough for all your support over the years and for including us in all the fun of your day. You guys are awesome!!
